Whithorn is one of Scotland’s most ancient tourist destinations.


Famous as Scotland’s ‘cradle of Christianity’, the site of the priory and the museum of carved stones today illuminate our understanding of these early times.

The historic site is in the care of Historic Scotland, whose Education Unit has produced the following resources to aid teachers and visitors interested in learning more about the site and its carved stones:
