Archaeology at Whithorn Priory
The story of Whithorn Priory is one of many layers.
From around the time of the Roman withdrawal from Britain in about 400 AD, Whithorn was an important centre of trade and learning. The site of the present day parish church has been a spiritual home to worshippers, monks and pilgrims for over 1,500 years.
One of the best ways to uncover Whithorn’s story through the centuries is to join the archaeologists and look for secrets hidden in the ground.
